Dr N. Petrellis received his diploma from Computer Eng. & Informatics dept (1994) and his PhD on Embedded systems from Electrical Eng. and Computer Technology Dept. in 1999 both from Univ. of Patras, Greece. He is an Associate Professor in the University of Thessaly and the former Technological Educational Institute of Thessaly where he started teaching as an Assistant Professor since September 2010. He has served as the head of the Computer Engineering Dept (TEI of Thessaly) from Sep. 2018 to Jan. 2019 and as the director of the Computer Engineering sector from 2016-2018. He has been with Analogies SA (2007-2010), Atmel Hellas SA, GiGA A/S (Intel Corporation) and Knowledge SA (1994-2003). He has been a visiting professor at University of Patras and TEI Mesolongiou from 2003 to 2010. He has published more than 100 papers in peer reviewed international journals, conferences and book chapter. He is the principal or sole inventor in 9 Greek and international patents. His research interests include Embedded system design for automation and telecommunication applications, smart phone apps based on AI and image processing and mixed analog/digital design (ADCs).
